Converting Government-funded research into job opportunities, business, and an improved way of life.
Idaho National Laboratory is committed to fostering widespread distribution of its innovative software to accelerate adoption with industry and fuel innovation in other research organizations. In this store you’ll find a variety of software codes available to you for licensing which allows businesses to reproduce, manufacture, sell, or use INL-developed or owned intellectual property.
The Software Marketplace provides access to various software codes and data sets developed by INL employees. This includes nontrivial spreadsheets, scientific or mathematical models, experiments designed to study data sets or nontrivial customizations to existing software. INL makes its software available through various forms of licenses, including open-source and proprietary options. A software license – which can vary based on the specific company and technology – is a legally binding agreement between the owner or developer of a software program and the user, outlining how they can use and distribute the product. In the license, the responsibilities of each party are clearly defined, preventing and protecting the developer from infringement of copyright law.
