SEIDR: Digital Procedures for Efficiency and Safety in Nuclear Power

SEIDR: Computer-Based Procedure System for Field Workers
Technology No. CW-17-09
The paper-based procedures used in the commercial nuclear power industry are being improved using computer-based procedures (CBPs) to increase efficiency and safety. The CBP system - SEIDR - provides a dynamic electronic presentation of procedures, with features such as computational aids, easy access to additional information, just-in-time training, and digital component verification. The CBP system offers a more dynamic way of presenting procedures, reducing the worker's workload and risk of error. The system includes context-driven job aids and human performance tools embedded in the CBP system, reducing the time spent searching for documentation and allowing the worker to focus on the task.
