TIPS: Enhancing Human-Machine Collaboration in Next-Gen Power Plants

Task Information Presentation System (TIPS)
Technology No. CW-22-13
TIPS is a computer-based procedure solution developed by INL for multi-unit power plants. It demonstrates a way to operate a highly automated plant and helps the industry think beyond the current conduct of operations. The target customers are developers of new power plant designs and materials. The solution utilizes plant data from a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant simulator to provide a realistic user experience. TIPS is not meant to be a commercial product but to demonstrate the potential future ways to operate highly advanced power plants. Its successful application will lead to a further understanding of the benefits of higher levels of automation in power plants and its impact on the human-automation partnership.
